Matt’s son recently participated in a pinewood derby. His car wasn’t the fastest, but thanks to a shop full of tools and a perfectionist father, it WAS the most beautiful.
Final Living Room Light Mobile
The light mobile is finished and ready to ship cross-country! We were so excited about the end result that we staged a few glamour shots in our office. We can’t wait to see pictures of it hanging in its final home!
And bonus: a video we took (pre-painting) to capture the mobile’s movement.
A Merry Mobile Christmas
Matt’s daughter surprised him Christmas morning with the ultimate gift: a custom-made mobile featuring his favorite La Croix flavors! We hope your holidays were also full of fun, happy surprises.
Living Room Light Mobile Progress
Here’s the light mobile we’ve been working on a private residence. The movement is amazing, and Matt keeps saying, “It turned out better than I expected!” Next up is powder coating, then shipping to the client!
Medical Office Mobile
Here’s a rendering and final image of a mobile we created for a medical office in Pennsylvania. The mobile needed to cover a large space—22 feet tall by 10 feet wide—but stay within a strict budget. Using a straightfoward design and large, simple shapes, we were able to meet the challenge. The photograph shows how the shapes help fill the space nicely.
Living Room Light Mobile
Here’s a rendering of an interesting mobile we’re working on. This will hang in the living room of a private residence. Using this light mobile we created last year and this mobile-inspired light fixture Matt designed for his family’s kitchen, we came up with this design. Stay tuned for to see our progress!
Copper Mobile at Home
Coming back to work after Thanksgiving break feels great when your inbox includes an e-mail from a happy client. Below are pictures of the Copper Mobile we created for a (gorgeous!) private residence in Seattle.
CREATION Healthcare Mobile Installation
It’s been a whirlwind week for Matt and Ben. Last Thursday, they traveled to Pueblo, Colorado for the intense Red Thread Ceiling Sculpture installation. They returned home for about 48 hours. (Matt wasn’t about to miss his daughter’s performance in the local Shakespeare festival over the weekend.) Then first thing Monday, they headed to Tampa for the CREATION Healthcare Mobile installation—PLUS they spruced up a wall sculpture they completed earlier this year.
The good news is that CREATION Healthcare Mobile installation was seamless. Except the facility isn’t quite complete, so the mobile will remain protected until the space is free from construction dust. Be sure to check back for final images.
Meanwhile, Matt and Ben are both looking forward to a nice, long Thanksgiving break with their families. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Red Thread 2.0 Installation
Whew. Matt and Ben just finished installing a Red Thread ceiling sculpture at Pueblo Community College in Colorado, and it was intense.
The sculpture hangs from the center of a large rotunda with a 50-ish-foot ceiling. Anchoring to the ceiling wasn’t ideal for various reasons, so they strung cables across the rotunda, attaching them to support trusses.
Once the support cables were in place, the shapes were each hung in their proper position—which sounds easier than it actually is.
The installation took an arduous 24 hours, but we’re happy with the end results. It’s fun to see how different the sculpture looks from every vantage point. (And don’t you love that last shot from below!?)
Pueblo Community College Sculpture Materials
Here’s a peek at the shapes we’ll be using to create Pueblo Community College’s Red Thread ceiling sculpture. Installation is next week, so stay tuned!
