Paper Chain People Ceiling Sculpture

We managed to drag ourselves home from the forest, and now we’re back to the grind. We have a busy few months head!

Here’s one project in our queue. This sculpture will hang in the lobby of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The clients wanted something to liven up the area, but didn’t want anything too abstract. So we took their logo—a paper chain of two people—and designed this feature, which incorporates tons of little paper-chain people. (Except the paper people will actually be METAL.) We’re excited to see it come together!

Summer Break

Matt and Ben and families took a break from mobile making to camp, swim, hike, jump off cliffs, bathe in waterfalls, stuff like that. It was amazing. Please summer, never end.

Jersey City Lobby Sculpture

Here’s a fun project in our queue! This ceiling sculpture will hang in the main lobby of a brand-new high-rise apartment in Jersey City, New Jersey, just outside of New York City. The piece will span about 30 feet to add a dynamic feel to the lobby. It will also incorporate pops of color to brighten up the space.

Wood Mobile Installation

Here’s the wood mobile in its final home. As we’ve mentioned, our contract prohibits us from sharing many details about the project, but we CAN say that Matt and Ben’s wives are begging to come see it in person someday.

It's Installation Time!

Matt and Ben are traveling to a fun destination next week to install this mobile. Full disclosure: the picture below was actually taken last fall. Since then, the mobile has been painted and packed up and stashed in storage, waiting patiently for the space to be ready for artwork. The time has finally come, and we’re so eager to see the final piece in its final (gorgeous) home!
