Matt is headed cross country to Portland, Maine tomorrow to install a Pre-Fab Mobile #3 in a solarium space of a children’s cancer center. We especially love adding artwork to meaningful spaces like this.
Las Vegas Stretched Fabric Ceiling Sculpture
Our Las Vegas residence project is done! Our clients have such a beautiful home—we’re honored they’re including our artwork in it. The ceiling sculpture looks different from every vantage point, making it very hard to narrow down which pictures to share. Sorry (not sorry) for the overload.
Copper Hanging Mobiles
Matt has hit the ground running after that Mediterranean vacation. Here’s one project in the queue: two copper mobiles for offices in London. Stay tuned for progress pictures!
Ekko Workshop in Venice
Matt and his wife just returned from an epic trip to the Mediterranean with Matt’s parents, siblings, and their spouses. We could bore with with ALL the trip highlights… (Exploring Venice! Hiking in Montenegro! Swimming in the Ionian sea! Amalfi Coast! The Colosseum! Vatican City! St. Peter’s Basilica! Hiking the Cinque Terra coastline! So much gelato! Ok, enough already.)
We’ll keep it brief: it really was a fun highlight to visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and see an Ekko Workshop desktop mobile in the gift shop window. (And then, inside the museum, to see a stunning Alexander Calder mobile and silver wall sculpture!)
Magnificent Artwork at Red Rock Casino
Ben’s mother-in-law, who lives in Las Vegas, was recently at Red Rock Casino and sent us these images of Ekko Mobiles’ “magnificent artwork” at the Red Rock Casino. (Mother-in-law compliments might be the best kind.)
Salesforce Butterfly Installation
Ben oversaw the installation of the butterfly mobiles for Salesforce’s annual conference. It was an interesting challenge to prep for: very limited hanging points in the building and Ben has to give instructions to a union installation team but do none of the actual installation himself. Matt and Ben engineered the heck of the entire process, Ben survived, and the final mobiles looked great with the conference theme! Stay tuned for more pictures of the final mobiles.
Yakima Ceiling Sculpture Installation
The Yakima installation is done! It was a ceiling sculpture comprising 172 strands of 1,200 translucent acrylic shapes, strung along a hospital’s waiting room area. We’re so happy with the cheerful color and flow it adds to the beautiful space!
Butterflies!
Here are samples of the butterflies we’re using to create the mobiles for Salesforce’s annual conference. Now excuse us while we work nonstop.
Yakima Ceiling Sculpture Materials
We’re installing the Yakima hospital ceiling sculpture next week! Here are the parts that we spent the weekend prepping. Stay tuned for install pictures!
Saleforce Butterfly Mobiles
Ok guys, here’s a super rush project that we’re currently busting out. It’s for Salesforce’s annual conference, and it will include a series of mobiles in three different areas of San Francisco’s Moscone Center.
One area will have a large mobile with large butterflies, each with a 3-foot wingspan. The second area will have a set of butterflies with 2-foot wingspans. The third area will include 300 smaller butterflies strung together to span a main corridor.
We’d normally take about six months to complete a project like this, so excuse us while we burn the midnight oil to meet their very, very short timeline!
