A Local Project!

Here's another project in our queue, and we're extra excited about it, because it's for the new headquarters of a non-profit right here in Portland! The organization, Ride Connection, provides transportation options to those in need, so feel free to interpret those cylindrical shapes as wheels.

Fish Mobile

A few months ago, we worked with H. Marion Art Consulting to provide a fish-themed mobile to a children's hospital in Chicago. The art consultants included a great write-up about the project on their blog. Read it here!

Modern Mobile for Germany

Here a rendering of another project we're working on these days:

galeriekastenrendering.jpg

This mobile (shown in several several color variations) will ship overseas to a corporate building in Germany. It will hang 9 feet wide by 9 feet tall, and each piece will spin on the vertical axis. The client requested something very modern, and we think these clean lines and bold colors fit the bill!

Cloud-Inspired Ceiling Sculpture

Here's a graphic rendering of one of the next projects in our queue:

It's a cloud-inspired ceiling sculpture that will hang in the skylight and atrium of a North Carolina hospital. The entire piece will hang 18 feet wide by 12 feet deep by 12 feet tall. It will be made of steel tubing frames covered by sheer fabric, similar to White Ribbons and Towering Sails. Stay tuned to see progress!

New Hampshire Hospital Mobile

In April, we mentioned a 25-foot tall mobile we made for a new hospital in New Hampshire. Our client recently sent images of the mobile being installed and fully hanging. We didn't install this particular piece, so it's fun to see someone else do all the work!

Check out our Pterodactyl Mobile in Person!

The Museum at Prairie Fire has been open for business a few weeks now. If you're in the Kansas City area, be sure to pop in to check out our Pterodactyl mobiles in the lobby! We hear the rest of the museum is pretty awesome, too. (World's largest dinosaur exhibit. Need we say more?)

New Website!

Back in January, the behind-the-scenes gal around here resolved to update the Ekko Mobiles website. By the end of June, so she could blissfully enter summer without that big website project hanging overhead.

Well it's June 27, and our new site is live, three days ahead of schedule. We've added tons of beautiful high quality images, so be sure to check out our totally revamped gallery. Happy browsing, and more importantly, happy summer!

SemiSwing Triptych

A couple of years ago, we installed a large 12-foot wide mobile in the modern lobby of an affordable housing facility in San Jose. And we just got our hands on the most beautiful professional images of the place!
