Angular Desktop Mobile by Ekko Workshop

Say hello to our Angular Desktop Mobile. It stands 12" tall by 15" wide and will come in two color combos: black (with a red base) or blue/yellow/red (with a black base). We may be biased, but we think it looks extra adorable next to that miniature easy chair (sold separately).

Circle Series Mobile by Ekko Workshop

We're going to spend the next few days introducing our Ekko Workshop mobiles and stabiles. First up is Circle Series, a design based on an old Ekko Mobiles favorite. Circle Series hangs 20" tall by 20" wide and will come in three color variations: red/yellow/blue (pictured here), white/blue, and blue/black/white/yellow/red.

Fun fact: See the sliver of painting at the bottom of that photograph? It's actually a print of this Calder painting:

Say hello to Ekko Workshop, our new line of hanging mobiles and stabiles!

They're for our design-savvy friends who want the same high-quality, well-designed masterpiece you'd get from Ekko Mobiles—but without the commission process, the lead time, or the commission-sized price tag. Production

Sorry for the radio silence around here. We've been a bit preoccupied cranking out standing Circles Mobiles for Design Within Reach.

We'll also have exciting news about our Ekko Workshop line very very soon!

Goodbye 2012

Ah, December 31, the annual day of self reflection. It wouldn't feel right to end the year with some kind of list. So here, in no particular order, is a list of our top-ten highlights of 2012.

Photo Shoot

Yesterday was such a treat. We spent the day with legendary photographer Bruce Wolf, who worked his (meticulous and methodical) magic taking product photographs of our Ekko Workshop mobiles. We're about as excited to see the final photos as our kids are to have Santa visit.

Cincinnati

Matt and Ben spent the past few days in Cincinnati installing this mobile in a local municipal building. The install went smoothly, and they were pleased with the results...but they only had time to snap a quick iPhone picture before jetting off to the airport. And the building is still under construction, including a temporary wall that's suspended right through the mobile.

So you'l have to use your imagination with this final-results photo. Once it's done, the obstructing wall will be gone, and a lovely water feature will reside below the mobile. We can't wait to see some GOOD final results photos!

Vote for Ekko Mobiles!

Ok friends, mind if we ask for a favor? We've entered a contest, and we need your votes!

It's the 3form 7th Annual People's Choice Installation Contest, and we're showcasing the series of 91 mobiles we created for the new Educare facility in Tulsa.

We'd love to get a couple (or a LOT) of 5 star votes and maybe even some comments. (You do have to register on the 3form website, but don't worry—it takes all of 10 seconds.)

To vote, go here:

Thank you thank you!

Boxes!

Maybe we shouldn't get this excited about something as trivial as a heap of cardboard. But seriously, this is how we feel today: BOXES!!!!!

It's exciting news because it means we're one step closer to getting our Ekko Workshop mobiles launched.

Below are pictures taken at the box maker and at our shop of the final beautiful (yes, we're totally biased) boxes.

Meanwhile, wish us luck getting anything done* in our filled-to-the-gills-with-heaps-of-beautiful-cardboard shop!

*Oh, like finishing up this commission and churning out more Standing Circles Mobiles.
