Here's a project in our queue for a Sonora, California-based hospital. It's a ceiling sculpture made of 1,000 origami-inspired cranes (like the ones we designed for this project last year), strung into the shape of the cancer ribbon.
Butterflies Wall Sculpture
You know that hospital in Florida we're making an enormous fish-inspired series of mobile for? Well, we're also making a wall sculpture for the hospital's pediatric ward—a swarm of 75 metal butterflies, positioned as though they're ready to take flight.
We love changing things up with non-mobile pieces, so we're especially eager to tackle this one! (And after a long winter in Portland, some quality time in Florida will be an nice bonus.)
Wisconsin Medical Center Mobile Complete!
We just received pictures of the mobile we provided to the medical center in Appleton, Wisconsin. We were relieved to hear the installation went smoothly—and we're loving the final product. Be sure to check out the colorful shadows cast onto the walls in the second picture and the view from outside the building in the third picture.
Malaysia Middle School Mobile Complete!
We just put the finishing touches on the mobile we created for the international middle school in Malaysia. We can't wait to see it hanging in the school's new building (instead of our cluttered shop)!
Red Thread Ceiling Sculpture Installation
Well after a few minor hiccups, some sweet-talking our fabrication guys, and some looooonnnng hours, we got the Red Thread Ceiling Sculpture express shipped to the East Coast, where it was installed over the weekend. We're thrilled it's finished. (And relieved it was finished on time!)
Fish Mobile for Florida Hospital
Here's a project in our queue for this spring: It's a series of 200 individual mobiles that will "swim along" the entry corridor of a Lakeland, Florida-based hospital. The entire piece will include 800 fish-inspired shapes made of powder-coated perforated steel.
Red Thread Sculpture Frames
We're making serious headway on the red thread ceiling sculptures! The client's timeline is aggressive, so it's been all hands on deck to get these completed in time. The forms are headed to powder coated next, and then they'll trek across the country for an early March installation. Stay tuned!
Malaysia Middle School Mobile
Here's a mobile we're creating for an international middle school in Malaysia. Students at the school provided inspirational images of wildlife in Malaysia, like hornbill birds and paradise flowers, which we incorporated into the design. We've just finalized the color scheme, and the piece will be installed this summer at the school's brand-new campus.

Red Thread Ceiling Sculptures
Here's a project that's getting a lot of our focus at the moment. This will be a 4 sets of sculptures to hang in the staircases of two sister office buildings. It represents red thread, a concept used throughout Greek mythology, Asian history, and the Bible, to represent connectivity and a willingness to aid. We look forward to seeing it come together!
