Nebraska Hospital Ceiling Sculpture

Well darn it, we didn’t get good pictures of the entire Nebraska hospital ceiling sculpture without packaging debris all over the place, but here are some lovely shots of portions of the mobile—and some full shots with the debris that you’ll just have to overlook…

Fingers crossed we’ll get our hands on some professional shots of this ceiling sculpture, because we’re so happy with how it turned out! It spans the hospital’s cafeteria, and it adds a fun, playfulness to the space.

Huge shout-out to artist extraordinaire Daniel Goldstein for the amazing design and for the opportunity to collaborate on such a beautiful project!

Travel Safely!

A not-so-glamorous aspect of mobile making is ensuring all parts and materials travel safely to their final destination. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes peek at the packaging process for the Nebraska hospital ceiling sculpture.

Matt and Ben are actually road-tripping from Oregon to Nebraska, so be sure to admire the shelving they created in the back of the cargo van to ensure all the parts are safe and sound for the journey.

And check out Matt’s impressive parking job inside the shop—you know, just to ensure the van and/or mobile didn’t get stolen overnight from our downtown studio space. (Fortunately, no people, shelves, or laser printers were damaged in the parking process.)

Logo Ceiling Sculpture Pictures

The United Healthcare logo ceiling sculpture is installed! We’re always thrilled (and relieved) to see when our clients successfully complete installations. That organized mess of shapes turned out exactly how we had envisioned.

Logo Ceiling Sculpture

Here’s a ceiling sculpture we’re making for a United Healthcare medical office. It will include 1,200 rectangular shapes strung together for individual rotation. The piece will include several layers to add dimension. The client is installing this, and we’re excited to see how it looks in its space!

Mobile-Chandelier Hybrid Installation

A long, long time ago, we shared pictures of the expandable mobile chandelier we designed and made for a Los Angeles residence. Well since the pandemic threw a wrench in EVERYTHING, we’ve just now finally installed it.

In case you need a refresher, this mobile chandelier hangs over a dining room table, and it’s expandable to double its length to stay centered over the clients’ expandable dining room table.

If you squint a bit, you can blur out the scaffolding to get a sense of the space and the installed mobile. Anyhow, we’re happy with the end result and man, it feels good to finally cross this one off our to-do list.
