Here's a rendering for a custom mobile in our project queue. It will hang about 7 feet tall by 5 feet wide, and we're excited that it will incorporate a fun mix of materials—powder-coated aluminum AND laser-cut walnut shapes.
Look—materials! We just got these huge, colorful from the powder coater. They're the shapes that will create the wall and ceiling sculpture we're making for a local housing complex.
We just updated our Ekko Workshop website with our newest mobiles. We've introduced materials and finishes. You may even recognize the likeness of our SKB mobile in the mix!
Matt and Ben just returned from their annual pilgrimage to Arkansas to spruce up the White River Mobile. It was a wonderfully uneventful trip, and the mobile is looking as sparkly and clean as ever.
Here's a video Ben pulled together showing our recent mobile installation in Cincinnati. He condensed two days of work into a 14 second video!
We just got the green light on a really fun project. It's a ceiling sculpture for a private residence in the bay area. The client wanted something similar to our Waterfall Ceiling Sculpture, but with dramatic black origami cranes.
Instead of using actual paper cranes, a productive brainstorm session produced this (more durable) origami-inspired crane design that we'll fabricate from aluminum.
Check out the mobile Matt and Ben installed last week in Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati!
Hey look! We got mentioned in a blog article about must-have desk accessories created by Portland makers. We'd love to see a desktop with ALL of these gorgeous must-haves!
Matt and Ben are headed to Cincinnati today to install this mobile in a hospital lobby. It's based on our Progressions-style mobile, but this time we've made it circular and added several levels. Stay tuned for installation pictures!
